The Tipton Community Foundation, the Houghton Family Foundation, and the City of Tipton have collaborated to build the Tipton Sports & Arts Complex just north of the baseball/football fields.

Tipton Community Foundation received a $10,000 Towns Grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce in the spring of 2025. The Towns Grants support “small-scale quality of place projects that create quick, meaningful results in rural communities.”

The foundation purchased 5 tables and 20 chairs for the new concession stand in the Tipton Sports & Arts Complex, using monies awarded by the Towns Grant.

In addition to the tables and chairs for the concession stand, the foundation purchased eight black benches for the exterior of the Tipton Sports & Arts Complex with the funds awarded by the Towns Grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce.

In March of 2025, Tipton Community Foundation was awarded a $3,675.32 grant from the Greater Salina Community Foundation, through the Solomon Valley Community Foundation, to purchase fixtures for the men’s and women’s bathrooms in the Tipton Sports & Arts Complex. Sinks, mirrors, toilets, stall dividers, and towel/toilet paper dispensers were paid for in part with this grant.

The Houghton Family Foundation, via the Tipton Community Foundation, purchased a new fire truck for the Tipton Rural Fire Department that was delivered in the summer of 2024.
