The Tipton Community Foundation is hosting events that bring people together to have fun and share fellowship, give back to the community, and raise funds for the foundation’s projects.

The Foundation gifted RED FRISBEES to all of the 5th graders in the area schools during the Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s Give to Grow one-day matching event in April 2025 at Beloit. Pictured are the Tipton school students. Tipton Community Foundation received donations and matching funds totaling $17,004.24. This was the second year that Solomon Valley Community Foundation hosted the event.

The TIPTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION’S BOOTH at the Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s Give to Grow event in April 2025, where frisbees were given away and artist drawings of the new Tipton Sports & Arts Complex were showcased.

The new TIPTON YOUTH SPORTS FUND, Gene Schmitt founder, had a booth at the Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s Give to Grow event in April 2025. Fifth graders from the area enjoyed shooting baskets. The Tipton Youth Sports Fund raised $8,553.48 in donations and matching funds during the one-day event.

The Foundation has sponsored several BINGO nights at the Tipton Community Center, with large crowds in attendance. Board members grilled and served hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and nachos from the concession stand. Cash prizes were awarded to the Bingo winners.

The Foundation gifted NEW SUNGLASSES to all of the 5th graders in the area schools during the Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s Give to Grow one-day matching event in April 2024. Pictured are the Tipton school students with their new sunglasses. Tipton Community Foundation received donations totaling $21,215 at the event, with matching funds from the Solomon Valley Community Foundation and the Houghton Family Foundation totaling $17,057, for a grand total of $38,272 for the Tipton Community Foundation.

Board members hosted a COMMUNITY BREAKFAST on June 9, 2024, at the Community Center, serving biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, coffee, and orange juice. Displayed were 3D artist drawings of the future Tipton Sports & Arts Complex for public viewing.

Tipton students, teachers, and parents were invited to a BIKE, HIKE & BURGERS event at the Tipton Trail on August 15, 2024, sponsored by the Foundation. Students received free bike helmets with a personalized fitting from the Mitchell County Health Department, and bike safety and maintenance was offered by NCK Outdoors. Attendees rode or walked the Tipton Trail and ate grilled hamburgers donated by Schmitt Family Farms.

Professional musicians John and Amy Tuck of Denver, known as The Colorado Keys, provided the entertainment at the Foundation’s DUELING PIANOS event on September 21, 2024. Guests enjoyed a steak and shrimp dinner, and some even danced to the music. It was held at the Community Center. Funds raised will go toward upcoming community projects.
